Custom Branding for George Strait’s Stadium Tour
-
George Strait’s Stadium Tour wasn’t designed like a traditional tour. It was built as a series of landmark, one-night-only events in major cities, often places fans had waited years to see him perform. The focus wasn’t frequency, but significance.
The production centered on intimacy at scale. With the stage placed in the round, massive stadiums felt closer and more communal. At the same time, the audience was evolving. Longtime fans were joined by a growing Gen Z and Millennial crowd, drawn in by a return to a more authentic, Texas-rooted aesthetic. The visuals needed to reflect heritage, confidence, and presence without feeling dated.

The challenge was to create a visual system that could scale across stadiums while making each stop feel personal. I worked exclusively with Messina Touring Group, collaborating cross-functionally to design the main poster that defined the look of the entire tour.
As the sole designer on the project, I created one hero poster that established the visual language, drawing inspiration from 1970s spaghetti western film posters. From there, I designed nine custom city posters, each featuring photography of its stadium and a color palette pulled from local sports identities. The result was a collectible series that felt unified but deeply rooted in place.
After approval, I art directed a full style guide to support production and scale, ensuring consistency across print runs, marketing placements, and future tour materials.

The Stadium Tour became a historic moment in live entertainment. George Strait set the record for the largest single-ticketed concert in U.S. history with 110,905 attendees at Kyle Field. The show generated an estimated $7.8 million in direct local economic impact and helped raise over $1 million for the Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation.
Across paid media phases in 2023 and 2024, tour marketing generated over 21 million impressions, with additional momentum from teaser drops and announcement posts for major one-off shows. Beyond performance, the tour reinforced George Strait’s legacy, earning him the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award and a Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025 induction.
The visual system helped frame each stadium stop as a once-in-a-lifetime event, supporting both scale and storytelling.
